REPRISE. Zealand Portraits II

Not only the ICEAC’s Library on Artists’ Colonies throughout Europe is expanding rapidly, its Art Collection has recently been increased by four works by Jan Toorop (1858-1928), combining British, Dutch and Belgian influences. They will be on show in the Summer Exhibition of the MTVP Museum in Domburg, REPRISE. Zealand Portraits II (June 23 up to and including November 3, 2019):


1. Toorop, J.Th., Feeënsprookje/ Fairy Tale, 1895, woodcut on Japanese paper, printed in greyish brown.

2. Toorop, J.Th., Marker visser/ Fisherman from Marken, 1896, drypoint on paper, Nr. 5 of posthumous edition of 25 copies by A.C. Ninaber van Eijben (1928).

3. Toorop, J.Th., Sprokkelend kind/ Wood-gathering child,1899, drypoint on paper, published as appendix to the Dutch de luxe edition of the Wendingen issue on Toorop (1918).

4. Toorop, J.Th., Portret van / Portrait of William Degouve de Nuncques, 1904, drypoint on Japanese paper, 1904, Nr. 8 of 10, ‘Atelier Toorop’.
